William 'Woody' Lester

Mr. William Albert 'Woody' Lester, 73, of Whispering Pines Drive, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Princeton, West Virginia on July 16, 1945 a son of the late Clove and Callie Simpkins Lester. Woody loved his wife, children, and grandchildren, was an avid Elvis fan, and will be remembered as being a ‘one of a kind’ and most unique person. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Callie Slaydon. Woody is survived by his wife, Patricia Lester of the home; children, Jeff Lester of South Carolina, Sonya Lester Slaydon (Chris Slaydon) of Lexington, Chris Lester (Susan) of Winston-Salem, Dess Lester (Tamara) of Winston-Salem, Amanda Lester Whitman (Terry) of Lexington, and Jena Lester Martin (Andrew); siblings, Shirley Lester Melton (Pete), James Lester (Sylva), and Fred Lester (Joyce); grandchildren, Nate, Amanda, Kasey, Issac, Alana, Michael, Bianca (Josh), Billy, Christian, and Haven; and great-grandchildren, Lena, Jackson, Kayleigh, Karlie, and Kylie. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mike Martin officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 10th at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home, Wallburg, 10301 N. NC Hwy 109, Winston-Salem. Our condolences to the family! He was Dana’s uncle. She will miss her uncle Woody, will meet him again in HEAVEN! I will always remember the good times as a child growing up with him.
