Mrs. Doris Hendrix Haymore, 92, of Shady Grove Church Road, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on December 18, 1926 in Schoolfield, Virginia, a daughter of the late James Hobart and Ludie May Mefford Hendrix. Doris was a member of Second United Church of Christ and revered as a sweet, sweet mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Hovis Spurrier, and second husband, Carroll Haymore. Surviving are two sons, Danny E. Spurrier (Sandra) of Southmont, and Douglas R. Spurrier (Melva Kaye) of Pilot Moutain; daughter, Joni S. Messer (Frankie) of Lexington; sister, Pauline Ross of Kannapolis; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchild. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with son, Douglas officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home, Wallburg, 10301 N. NC Hwy 109, Winston-Salem.
