Mr. Joseph Henry Hawkins, 71, of Thomasville passed away peacefully Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Joseph was born September 4, 1947 to the late Raymond Wayne Hawkins and Dominica Stranieri in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. He worked many years as an Electrical Engineer and was very talented at his job. Joseph had a love for riding motorcycles, collecting guns and hunting. He was a solider in the Salvation Army. Joseph was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend; he will be greatly missed. Surviving is his loving wife, Cheryl Hawkins of the home; one son, Michael Hawkins and wife Christina of Thomasville; one daughter, Jackie Hawkins Edwards and husband George of Thomasville; one sister; five grandchildren, Michael Edwards, Lexi Edwards, Elizabeth Hawkins, Joseph Hawkins, Sydney Hawkins, all of Thomasville. A funeral service will be held Monday October 15, 2018 at 11:00 AM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Dingess officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM. Although we did not have the pleasure of knowing Mr. Hawkins, our condolences go out to his family. Special thoughts and prayers are being sent to his daughter Jackie and son-in-law George including their children. Mr. Hawkins will move peacefully into his new home with our Lord and savior to have everlasting life.
