Mr. Bernis Chandler (Chan) McAdams, Jr., 64, a resident of Piedmont Crossing Retirement Community passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Piedmont Crossing. He was born on July 24, 1954 in Thomasville, NC to Bernis Chandler McAdams, Sr. and Marie Leming McAdams, both of whom preceded him in death. He graduated from Thomasville High School and attended Hargrave Military Academy and Wingate College. He was a ham radio licensee and enthusiast. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church. Surviving is his aunt, Mary Lou Woods of Thomasville; and several cousins, including a special cousin and caregiver, Ed McAdams of Trinity. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Unity Place at Piedmont Crossing with Chaplain Bob Symanski officiating. A committal service will immediately follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Mr. McAdams will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville for public viewing until taken to Holly Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel on Thursday 30 minutes prior to the committal service. Memorials may be directed to Davidson County Humane Society, 1114 Piedmont Drive, Lexington, NC 27293. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the loving caregivers at Piedmont Crossing, the Doctors and Staff of the Wound Care Center at High Point Regional Hospital, and to Piedmont Triad Ambulance and Rescue for all of their kind and loving care to Chan. I'm so sorry to hear this news. I recall Chan from many years ago in elementary school...maybe all the way back to Miss Green's class at Kern Street. He had a very bright and fun personality. My prayers are with the family. Seems he is gone too young. -helen lloyd montgomery
