Mr. Clyde Junior Hughes, 84, a resident of Noahtown Rd., passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the Hospice Home at High Point. He was born on August 23, 1933 in Randolph County, NC to Ed Henry Hughes and Minnie Hulin Hughes. He retired from Lowe’s Distribution Center in Thomasville and attended Love of God Baptist Church. He was a US Army veteran having served in Germany and loved hunting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Loretta Hunt Hughes on February 15, 2014, whom he married on July 15, 1951; brother, Clay Hughes; and sister, Ailene Lopp. Surviving is his son, Ricky Hughes and wife Lisa of Reidsville; dear friend, Tony Hughes and wife Bonnie of Thomasville; and special caregivers, Doris Owen, Wendy Winn, Darlene Burns, and Noelia Cuevas. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Michael Orman and Rev. Mark Christy officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with full military rites provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1803 Westchester Dr. High Point, NC 27262 or to Love of God Baptist Church, 5606 S. NC Highway 109, Thomasville, NC 27360.
