The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Navy never left him, as friends and family will attest. Following the war, Mr. Perryman owned Crutchfield Hardware in Thomasville where he was involved in many civic organizations. His fondest memory was of the year he and his fellow Jaycees brought Miss America to Thomasville as grand marshal of the 1956 Christmas parade. In 1970, he and his family moved to Griffin, Ga. where he served as an Air Traffic Controller with the Federal Aviation Administration until his retirement in 1995. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville, N.C. until the hour of service. A memorial reception will be held Saturday, June 16 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Towers in Sandy Springs, Ga. The family wishes to thank Roseena Brown, Vanessa Bell, Dorothy Blake, Crystal Wine, and Longleaf Hospice of Atlanta for their loving support of Mr. Perryman during the last four years of his life.
