Robert Lee (Bobby) Combs, 85, of Winston-Salem went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. Bobby was born June 15, 1932 in Mt. Airy (Surry County), NC a son of the late Friel and Cora Combs. He was a retired manager for Food Fair (Food Lion) for forty three years. Bobby served in the National Guard, was a member of Bethlehem Church where he served on numerous boards at the church. On October 25, 1952 he married Billie Jean Beckerdite who survives of the home. Surviving in addition to his wife is nieces, Susan Holston and Cynthia Murray; great niece, Stephanie Mathis and great-great nieces, Rosemary Williams, Molly Williams and Lizzie Sipkay. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday at Bethlehem Church Cemetery with Rev. Bryan Hullette officiating. There will be no formal visitation. J.C. Bobby was the kindest man I’ve ever known. I was lucky to have him as a Father figure in my early years. I dearly love you, Billie & Bobby!
