Mr. Ronald Douglas Motley, 75, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was born in Davidson County, October 10, 1942 a son of Vestal Motley and Inez Godfrey Motley and was a lifelong resident of Davidson County. He was of the Baptist faith and had retired from Swaim Originals in High Point. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Douglas Motley, Jr. Surviving is a daughter, Sharon Motley Brewer and husband Tommy of Tobaccoville, NC; two sisters, Dianne Everhart of Thomasville and Gloria Myers and husband Danny of Lexington; two brothers, Bobby Motley of Denton and Clifford Motley and wife Carolyn of Archdale. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Christina Hall, Michael D. Carter, Stacy Hall, and Dalton Brewer; three great grandchildren, Preston Hicks, Michael Needham, and Kole Carter. A crypt side memorial service will be held Wednesday at 1 PM at Holly Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum in Thomasville by the Rev. Sidney Lanier. The family will receive friends at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville on Tuesday from 6 until 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
