Mrs. Bobbie Lee Caldwell Leonard of Thomasville died peacefully at her home on Thursday, September 7, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 15, 1926 in Cornelia, Ga., a daughter to the late Maude Emma Young Caldwell and Dewey Lee Caldwell. Bobbie married Hubert Monroe Leonard on October 12, 1946. She was an active member of Unity United Methodist Church and served in various civic organizations. Bobbie will best be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, and friend. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Hubert Leonard; her daughters and sons-in-law Laura and Neal Grimes and Nancy and William Holland; grandsons Mac Grimes, Stephen Grimes and wife Karalyn, David Grimes and wife Laura, and Will Holland; great grandchildren Forrest, Duncan, and Emmaleth Grimes; nephew Dr. George Caldwell, and niece Janice Helms. Bobbie's family extends deep thanks and appreciation to the Leonard family and special friends Wendi Thompkins, Francis Gwyn, Sue Hostetter, and Dawn Lomba for their love and support. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2017 at J.C. Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials can be made in memory of Bobbie to Unity UMC and Hospice of Davidson County. Nancy and Laura, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I remember many afternoons that I walked from Daddy's veterinary hospital to your house and how sweet your mom was. And wow!!! 70 years of marriage. How blessed were your parents. What a commitment! The last time I saw y'all was at the Thomasville Women's Club on a Sunday for lunch.
