Mrs. Thelma Mae Hardison Moncus Fitzgerald, 82, a resident of Pleasant Grove Church Rd., died Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House. She was born on August 15, 1934 in Davidson County, NC to John Marion Hardison and Flora Isabel Smith Hardison. She worked the majority of her life in the furniture industry and retired from Brass Craft. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Franklin Fitzgerald on May 20, 2015; and her daughter, Karen Sue Moore; her daughter-in-law, Joy Moncus; brother, Bill Hardison; and sisters, Mary Thompson and Dorothy Potts. Surviving are her sons, Eddie Moncus, David Moncus, and James Steven Moncus, all of Thomasville; step-sons, Randy Fitzgerald of Southmont and Charles Fitzgerald of Texas; step-daughter, Debbie Webber and husband Warren of Trinity; son-in-law, Michael Moore of Climax; sisters, Loumi Creel and Nancy Cavin and husband Darrell; brother, John Hardison; sister-in-law, Hilda Hardison; 6 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Jane Auman officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 – 12:30 PM.
