Mrs. Lawanna Coe Spainhour, 96, of Mock Rd. went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Hospice Home at High Point. Mrs. Spainhour was born in Surry County May 9, 1920 a daughter of the late Frank Julius Coe and Lovella Stanley Coe. She was a member of High Point Primitive Baptist Church and was married to the late James William Spainhour who preceded her in death in 1997. Mrs. Spainhour was retired from the Ledford High School Cafeteria, loved children, gardening, cooking and worked in tobacco for many years. She was also preceded in death by her son, Terry Randall Spainhour in 2007. Surviving are her grandchildren, Terry Mitchell Spainhour, Leigh Ann Spainhour and Chad Randall Spainhour all of High Point; four great-grandchildren, Jesse William Spainhour, Jay Austin Spainhour, Ashley Nicole Carter and Heidi Grace Spainhour; special daughter-in-law, Brenda Morgan. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery 2817 Abbotts Creek Church Rd. High Point with Elder Steve Nichols officiating. Mrs. Spainhour will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home 10301 N. NC Hwy. 109 Winston Salem and the family will greet friends and neighbors after the graveside service at the cemetery and other times at the home of Mrs. Spainhour.
